In order to become an authorised owner-builder in most States or Territories in Australia, you must complete an approved owner-builder course to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of legislative and technical requirements in relation to the building work.

The ABE Owner-Builder Course for your State or Territory will provide you with the educational requirements prescribed by the relevant legislation to apply for your owner-builder permit. Upon completion of the course, you will have attained the required skills and knowledge to confidently and successfully undertake day-to-day management of your project.
